I am learning how to sleep.
Sleeping is something I naturally struggle with. As an entrepreneur sleepless nights are never scarce but those nights barely move the needle on my do not sleep scale
Most of the nights I don’t sleep much because there is a lot of things in my head stopping me from sleeping but because I feel like going to sleep means giving up on the day somehow I think the day is still doing as long as I am still awake.
In addition I currently don’t sleep much because it’s currently hard for me to go to the bed I sit on my couch trying to look up this extra thing on the computer, a 3AM call with my development team in India as they start their work day, get a couple of pages in of this incredible book I am reading or an extra chapter of the amazing audiobook I am listening, find a great movie to watch and then I would fall asleep trying on the couch with all the lights on, the tv watching me and the audiobook listening to me snore.
My mentor Mike Long would tell me that the most important thing for me right now is sleep even when preparing for a big event or promotion. I just currently don’t know how to go to sleep early and also want to enjoy the sunrise.
I am a work in progress and I am learning how to sleep.
